Elderly Care in Action | BPS Global Volunteers Partner with Buddhist Tai Kwong Chi Hong College to Visit Elderly Residents in Sam Mun Tsai

Last Saturday, July 5, the BPS Global volunteer team joined hands with teachers, students and social workers from Buddhist Tai Kwong Chi Hong College for a meaningful outreach visit to Sam Mun Tsai San Tsuen in Tai Po, New Territories. Together, they extended care and warmth to nearly 30 elderly households in the community.

Divided into four teams, the volunteers and students visited both elderly individuals living alone and senior couples. They spent time understanding the residents' daily lives and needs and delivered thoughtfully prepared care packages as heartfelt gestures of compassion and support.

This outreach not only brought comfort and connection to the elderly, but also offered students a valuable opportunity to learn about the history of Sam Mun Tsai and gain insight into the challenges faced by its elderly residents. The experience helped nurture empathy and a deeper sense of social responsibility.
