【Smart Robotic Dog Showcased at Local Secondary School Open Day | Promoting Robotics Applications and STEM Education】
To enhance Hong Kong secondary school students’ understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, a local AI solutions consultant and supplier recently participated in an open day hosted by a Hong Kong secondary school. During the event, the company showcased the “LITE 3” smart robotic dog from DEEP Robotics, represented by Hong Kong Logistics Technology & Systems Limited (HKLTS), quickly attracting the attention of students and parents on site.
During the event, the LITE 3 robotic dog performed several live demonstrations in the exhibition area, including walking, turning and interactive movements. These demonstrations highlighted its flexible joint design and stable motion control capabilities, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the potential of robotics technology in education and innovative applications. Through these engaging demonstrations, students were not only able to observe the principles behind robotic movement, but also to spark interest in foundational concepts such as robot control, programming logic and sensing technologies.
The LITE 3 quadruped robotic dog features a flexible modular design that supports various sensors and expansion modules, making it suitable for a wide range of teaching and research scenarios. With its relatively accessible price and open technical platform, the robot is particularly well suited as a STEM teaching tool, enabling students to explore robotics motion control, AI applications and machine learning technologies through hands-on learning.
Through this open day demonstration, the participating organisation aimed to introduce the latest developments in robotics technology to students and the education community, while inspiring the younger generation to take an interest in cutting-edge fields such as STEM, artificial intelligence and machine learning. The initiative also encourages students to explore innovative possibilities through programming and engineering thinking.
As robotics technology and AI applications continue to become more widespread, quadruped robotic dogs are gradually emerging as important platforms for education, research, and industrial innovation. By introducing advanced robotics technology into schools, educational institutions can provide students with more interactive and inspiring learning experiences while nurturing future technology talent.
